In 1987, I graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a BS in Business Administration as a marketing major. While going to school in the NC mountains, I enjoyed living in a resort community. I decided to try the extreme opposite of the mountain environment and moved to Hilton Head Island in 1988. When I first made the move, I had planned to go back to the mountains after a few years. Like most Hilton Head Islanders, I fell in love with the island and living in a coastal area. Thirty-two years later, I have never looked back.
In the beginning of my real estate career on the Island, I was a licensed sales assistant. After a year, I had the opportunity to work in the publishing industry with one of the Island's premier real estate publications, Island Real Estate Magazine. In my 21 years with Down South Publishers, having various positions and eventually being a partner, I have seen first hand how marketing in the real estate industry has changed. In 2012, I decided to go back to real estate sales and have been utilizing my knowledge of the Lowcountry and my marketing background to put buyers and sellers together.
After raising our twin daughters, Hannah and Paige on the Island, my husband Dempsey and I are enjoying being empty nesters and exploring the Island as we did in the beginning.
