About Palmetto Dunes

Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort is centrally located on Hilton Head Island featuring 3 miles of private beach access and a real estate selection to match the tastes of all prospective property owners.  Spread over nearly 2,000 acres from the lush, sugar sand oceanfront to Hilton Head’s largest deepwater harbor of Shelter Cove, Palmetto Dunes offers a unique island experience by blending a plethora of first-class amenities with value added by the convenience of access.  Palmetto Dunes homeowners share a pride of ownership that stems from the perfect blend of the Lowcountry’s natural beauty with the flowing development sites of homes and villas.

Amenities

Palmetto Dunes owners and visitors enjoy the convenience and accessibility of the area’s most demanded amenities.  Some of this demand stems from the fact that Palmetto Dunes golf, and more specifically the Robert Trent Jones oceanfront hole, represent the second most affiliated symbol of Hilton Head lifestyle.  While his famous aerial photo does entice demand, it is the challenge and enjoyable experience had by golfers, whether playing this course or the George Fazio or Arthur Hills, that keep them coming back for more.  Palmetto Dunes did an amazing job when designing this resort community as they managed to accommodate these three championship golf courses and maintain a lush Lowcountry feel.  Whether it is the lush live oak canopy draped with Spanish moss or the long shots over the intertwining 11-mile lagoon system, anyone who plays Palmetto Dunes leaves with a memorable experience.

Golf is not the only commonly recognized amenity as the Palmetto Dunes Tennis & Pickleball Center featuring 19 clay tennis courts (four of which are lighted for night play) and 24 dedicated pickleball courts (8 of which are lighted for night play) provides for year-round activities of instructions, clinics, and tournaments hosted by professional instructors and players.

Mentioned earlier, the 11-mile navigable saltwater lagoon provides for boating (electric motor only), fishing, kayaking, and an amazing setting for any of the homes or villas that might be positioned along it.  Walking and biking trails are in abundance and for those who prefer transportation, a complementary taxi system for owners and guests is offered most of the year by calling the “Palmetto Dunes Buggy.” Boating is conveniently accessed out of the deepwater harbour of Shelter Cove.
